So much for blogging every day...

(Wifi is not great at the hotel, so we will blog when we can.)
I we are safely in Peru. I learned rather quickly that I max out on plane travel at about three hours. This was about half way through the seven hour Atland to Lima, Peru leg of our trip.

We arrived in Lima at out midnight. Thank goodness the hotel was just steps from the airport. I was exhausted!
We arrived in Lima at abBack up at 4:30am to fly a short hour and 20 minutes from Lima to Cusco. The altitude (12,000 feet above sea level) hit me almost instantly. Percy, our amazing guide (more on him later) met us at the airport to take us directly to a lower altitude in the Sacred Valley.
The mountains are amazing and the views are breathtaking. For those of you who study yoga, I even hit the briefest moment of Ananda en route to Pisaq.
This blog will be brief. I am still exhausted and end to rest. Plus, I am not quite sure if and when I will have enough magic internet power to post this and the pics.
So, for now, good night. ~Heather

Here we go!

We are officially on our way to Peru!
We are awaiting boarding in Cleveland and in a few, okay twelve, hours we will land in Lima. (That's LEE-muh, as opposed to LIE- muh. There is no Kewpee, Fat Jack's or Pat's Doughnuts where we are going.)
We are taking some Northwest Ohio treats with us.
Packo's Hot Dog Sauce, Dietsch Bros. Chocolates, Marsha's Buckeyes and a Mud Hens hat for our guide, Percy.
We also have a traveling companion. Meet Bat Baby.
He is very excited to be joining Shane and I on our adventure. He told his adoptive Mom, Cyndi, he is originally from Machu Picchu. I could not deny the request when he asked to come with us. More on his adventures later.
Adios amigos. Hasta mañana. Necessito preparar irme.

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! This is all about the adventures of our little family. Shane (chiropractor, travel lover and VW fanatic) is the dad. Heather (tv journalist, yogi, nature lover, history buff and slight adventurer) is the mom. They boys are Kelan (big brother, rocker, Minecraft-aholic and wannabe Indiana Jones) and Ian (little brother, train lover and male Dora the Explorer.)

We are creating this blog as Shane and I prepare for a trip to Peru so friends and family can travel along with us as we celebrate our 40th birthdays and cross an adventure off our bucket list.

Comments are welcome and encouraged.

Enjoy and namaste,
Heather
